It will bring us a visual feast of Issey Miyake and Irving Penn, which is the best witness to their 13 years of cooperation.
Issey Miyake
Born in 1938 and growing up in Japan after World War II, his growth environment was severely impacted by Eastern and Western cultures.
In 1965, he moved to Paris to study in Chambre Syndicale de la Couture, and then worked for Guy Laroche and Givenchy.
In 1970, he set up his own studio. He had been addicted to human body structure and costume design. He began to try to use new materials and tailoring.
Although Issey Miyake and Irving Penn are quite different.
Background and culture
They have brought us one of the most creative fashion combinations. This combination can be compared with the YSL smoking suit brought by Helmut Newton or the Marc Jacobs molded by Juergen Teller.
Although Miyake has never taken part in the photography process of Penn, Penn has never participated in the Miyake show, but the aesthetic consciousness of both of them has been well collided.
Under the guidance of Miyake colleague Midori Kitamura, this exhibition shows their respective works and cooperation series.
Miyake said, "I have been looking for a photographer who can show my clothes and express my intentions. Penn is the best candidate."
