Thailand'S Home Textiles Exports Are Promising.

Thailand think tank Thai Farmers Research Center recently predicted 2011

The export volume of household textiles to ASEAN will increase to $70 million, up by nearly 50% over the previous year.

The Research Center pointed out that ASEAN is becoming an important export market for home textiles in Thailand.

In the first half of 2011, ASEAN became the second largest export market for home textiles in Thailand, and its exports increased by 44.4% over the same period last year.

The main reasons for the dramatic increase in Thailand household textiles exports to ASEAN include the completion of the ASEAN Free Trade Area and the growing importance of ASEAN consumers.

The research center estimated that the total domestic textile exports in Thailand could be maintained at 370 million US dollars in 2011, an increase of only 1.2% over the previous year, mainly because of the slowdown in the main export markets such as the United States, the European Union and Japan.
