China Will Establish Lifelong Accountability System For Chemical Environmental Pollution

Chemical pollutants enter the environment and pose a major threat to human health and the environment.

Zhang Lijun, Vice Minister of environmental protection, said on 15 th that China should strengthen pollution.

Environmental management of chemicals is an important part of pollution prevention and control work in 12th Five-Year.

Zhang Lijun called for strict environmental access. From September 15, 2011, environmental protection departments at all levels should stop accepting all kinds of applications for new construction, reconstruction and expansion of dangerous chemicals production and storage outside industrial parks.

A long-term mechanism for environmental management of chemicals should be established. By the end of 2013, the registration of hazardous chemicals environmental management will be completed. For enterprises that do not fulfill their registration obligations in accordance with the regulations, they will be restricted in the environmental impact assessment, environmental verification and environmental protection special funds of listed companies.

Zhang Lijun stressed the need to strengthen accountability and punishment for pollution and establish a lifelong accountability system for chemical environmental pollution.

Earnestly implement the main responsibility of enterprises and increase the number of enterprises.

He said that the Ministry of environmental protection will increase the supervision and inspection of environmental management of chemicals as an important part of the supervision and inspection work for changing the mode of development, and the relevant inspection will be reported to the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
