The EU's trade defense measures against China are becoming increasingly tough. Chen Taifeng, executive director of the China WTO Research Association, said in an interview with reporters that the move is more convenient for the local government to take countervailing action, and is also a response to China's free trade policy.

Chen Taifeng predicted that the new policy meant that the EU's trade barriers to China would be more frequent.

Mandelson's proposal has been supported by European Union member governments and some industry enterprises, and 12 member states have called for more countervailing actions.

In fact, the tough attitude towards China policy is Mandelson's consistent style.

Earlier, he publicly stated that China had "too cheap capital" and called on the European Union and the United States to jointly urge the Chinese government to shoulder its international obligations.

At present, Europe's trade deficit with China is rising at a speed of US $20 million per hour.

For this reason, Chen Taifeng suggested that in order to break through trade barriers, it is suggested that Chinese enterprises take market oriented investment and further expand the scale of trade through indirect promotion.

At the same time, we should actively respond to overseas trade barriers so as to take the initiative position.

Subsidies or bonuses received by government or industry associations in the course of production, pportation and trading are called subsidies.

The WTO's "subsidy and Countervailing Measures Agreement" stipulates that subsidies for other members will be negatively affected. Other members can take measures to remedy the problem, including the request for dispute settlement procedures to the WTO dispute settlement body and the investigation procedure for the levy and countervailing duty investigation, and the Levy of countervailing duty after the prescribed procedures.
