Italy Will Explore The Prospect Of Investing In The India Handloom Industry
Jitendra Chowdhury, Minister of Commerce and industry in Tripura, India, said that a Italy business delegation will visit India next month to explore the prospect of investment in Handlooms, handicrafts, silk, cotton and other industries.
The minister said that the 280 member delegation led by Italy foreign minister Franco Fratini (Franco Frattini) will visit India in the first week of November to strengthen bilateral economic and trade relations.
Some members of the delegation will visit the northeastern states of India in November 3rd, such as Tripura, to discuss with state governments and local businessmen and investors.
He also revealed that Italy showed their interest in the study of industries in the Northeast States, including handicraft industry and hand rolling.
During his visit, he said, the delegation of Italy is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding with some enterprises in the northeastern states of India.
