Corporate Social Responsibility Should Not Rank

Recently, from the media, I read the blue book on corporate social responsibility published by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 2011. I believe that the blue book does not really reflect the social responsibility of Chinese enterprises and is easy to mislead public opinion.

First, the state has repeatedly asked to prohibit ranking activities of all kinds of names. This report, despite the signboard of corporate social responsibility, talks about commonweal, but the essence is ranking.

Two, corporate social responsibility can not be ranked.

Enterprises are large and small, and industries vary widely. Enterprises of different sizes and different industries can not evaluate with the same standard.

For example, how can the profit monopoly enterprises and hundreds of thousands of private enterprises earn hundreds of thousands of dollars a year?

For example, compared with the environmental protection enterprises and coal enterprises, no matter how the coal enterprises try to shoulder their social responsibilities, the comprehensive evaluation is not much better.

Corporate social responsibility evaluation is a very complex project, though it can be based on international standards.

Three, the blue book does not really reflect the social responsibility of Chinese enterprises.

There are more than 900 enterprises in China, and only 300 out of the blue books are evaluated. Such a small sample size can not truly and comprehensively reflect the social responsibility of Chinese enterprises.

Even comprehensive evaluation should be carried out in enterprises in the same industry, and every industry must ensure that a considerable number of enterprises participate in the evaluation so that authenticity can be guaranteed.

Four, unfair evaluation of private enterprises.

The responsible person of the blue book said: "the efforts to promote the social responsibility of private enterprises are stagnant."

It is not serious to make such an appraisal.

Last year, the CPPCC National Committee, the central United Front Work Department and the National Federation of industry and Commerce have made formal reports, pointing out that remarkable achievements have been made in the activities of excellence and gratitude in private enterprises. Private enterprises have made great progress in social responsibility and improved their corporate image.

Can we say that the evaluation of these departments is wrong? Corporate social responsibility includes many aspects, among which charity donation is one of the main contents.

In recent years, in the major natural disasters such as the Wenchuan earthquake, the Yushu earthquake and the Zhouqu debris flow, most of the top donors are private enterprises. How can we say that the social responsibility of private enterprises is stagnant? Besides, scandals such as sky wine, sky lanterns and sky price resorts all come from central enterprises instead of private enterprises. How can we prove that CSR is obviously better than private enterprises?
