Huge market demand

"The high-performance fiber products we can access in our daily life are mainly carbon fiber golf clubs, carbon fiber fishing rods, carbon fiber tennis rackets and so on."

He predicts that the average growth rate of China's high performance fiber industry will be between 20%~25% in the period of 12th Five-Year, and the total PE of the industry is about 28 times.

Import dependence is high.

It is understood that high performance fibers can be classified into inorganic high-performance fibers and organic high-performance fibers according to raw material sources. Inorganic high-performance fibers can be divided into carbon fibers and ceramic fibers. Organic high-performance fibers can be classified as aromatic polyamide fiber, M5 fiber, super high strength polyvinyl fiber and so on.

Among them, carbon fiber, aramid fiber and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber are the three most important high-performance fibers in the world today.

Carbon fiber is a new material with excellent mechanical properties. Its proportion is less than 1/4 of steel, but its tensile strength is significantly higher than that of steel.

The mature application markets of carbon fiber include aerospace, defense and leisure products.

"The global carbon fiber production capacity has been oversupplied, although the domestic carbon fiber import dependence rate is above 80%, the import substitution space is big, but the domestic carbon fiber technology still needs to break through."

Zhang Gejian said.

Aramid fiber, known as "poly (para benzyl two benzoyl two phenyl amine)", has excellent properties such as ultra high strength, high modulus and high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, light weight and so on.

Zhang Gejian said that the global aramid fiber has been oversupplied, but the supply and demand situation of aramid 1414 is still tight.

Domestic aramid consumption is booming, the annual compound growth rate is around 30%.

Compared with carbon fiber and aramid fiber, UHMWPE fiber has higher strength, lighter weight and better chemical stability.

At present, the supply of ultra high molecular polyethylene fiber is in short supply, the supply gap is more than 90 thousand tons, and the domestic supply gap is about 8000 tons, and some domestic enterprises have reached the world advanced level.

Analysts said that in the three categories of high-performance fiber products, relatively optimistic about the development prospects of UHMWPE fiber.

Overall, despite the promising industry prospects, the backward technology level is still the main problem that restricts the development of high performance fiber industry in China.

"Because of the high technical threshold of high performance fibers and the relatively backward domestic technology level, the high-performance fibers produced by our country are only medium and low end products, and some high-end products need to be imported from abroad every year. The high dependence of China's high performance fiber industry is relatively high."

Xiong Xiaokun said.

According to Zhang Ge's construction, it is foreseeable that as the Chinese government attaches more importance to high-performance fibers and the industrialization of high performance fibers in China, China will become an important producer of high-performance fibers in the future. It will not only make up for the domestic demand gap, but also take into account the needs of foreign countries.

In this field, the stocks with technological superiority are undoubtedly the most worth digging in the textile sector.

Gu Jing, a Securities researcher in the 21st century, also believes that due to the high performance requirements, complex production processes and high technical barriers, high performance fiber and composite materials are the key elements of future industrial upgrading, and companies with technology and scale advantages are expected to benefit.

Reporters learned that, since high-performance fibers can be mainly divided into three types of carbon fiber, aramid fiber and ultra-high molecular polyethylene fiber, investors may wish to start looking for investment opportunities from these three products respectively.

"At present, the demand for three kinds of high-performance fiber products is very strong in China, and there will be broad prospects for development in the future."

From the relevant listed companies of aramid, it mainly includes the production of aramid raw materials in Zhejiang, Longsheng and the leading enterprises of aramid fiber production, and so on.

In addition, S's 100 tons of para aramid industrial test facility is progressing smoothly. Shenma share dipped aramid cord fabric has formed an annual output of 15~20 tons.

From the perspective of UHMWPE fiber, it mainly includes S, China Textile and so on.

It is understood that S has built the first domestic production line of 300 tons dry spinning high performance polyethylene fiber production line at the end of 2008, and achieved a breakthrough in localization of dry spinning technology, filling the gap of domestic technology.
