India Government Vigorously Saves Employment Opportunities In Textile Industry

In order to assess the impact of the economic slowdown on employment, the Labour Bureau, labour and Employment Department of India launched a quick survey in 2011 1-3 (this is the tenth survey).

The survey covers important industries, including textiles and hand movements.

According to the above report, 733 textile enterprises, including garment enterprises, were surveyed. It is worth noting that the number of employed persons decreased by 121 thousand in March 2011 compared with December 2010.

Similarly, during the period, 96 hand spinning machine / power loom enterprises surveyed reduced 18 thousand jobs.

We should strengthen the textile industry and expand the employment opportunities in the textile industry.

The government of India is also implementing the specific plan for the development of the handloom machinery sector.

For the development of the hand spinning machine sector and the welfare of the handloom weavers, five plans were implemented during the eleventh five year plan, such as the integrated handloom development plan, hand rolling.

Recently, the government has announced plans to revive, reform and reorganize the textile machinery sector.

Owing to the government's implementation of the above plan, the Department of hand spinning machine was merged.

Therefore, the number of workers working in each Loom factory increased from 197 days (1995-96 census) to 234 days (2009-10).

Similarly, the proportion of full-time weavers to the total number of weavers has increased from 44% to 64%.

In addition, the proportion of idle looms dropped from 10% to 4%.
