At present, the acquisition of seed cotton has ended in Xinjiang. As of December 10th, the region has acquired 3 million 370 thousand tons of cotton (cotton lint), including 2 million 340 thousand tons of local cotton, 72% more than last year, and 2 million 800 thousand tons of lint.

This year's cotton spot market is sluggish, demand is not strong, export capacity is insufficient, and the market price of lint sale is below 19800 yuan / ton.

In 2011, the average net profit and cash income per mu of cotton in Xinjiang autonomous region were 587.75 yuan and 1113.79 yuan respectively, representing a decrease of 554.13 yuan and 562.62 yuan respectively, down 48.53% and 33.56% respectively.

The average selling price of cotton per 50 kg in 2011 dropped from 1147.62 yuan last year to 927.09 yuan, down 19.22%.

The report suggests that the main cotton producing areas in Xinjiang should be the national cotton production base, and the cotton subsidy policy should be treated according to the wheat subsidy management mode, so as to stabilize the cotton planting area in the suitable cotton area and continuously improve the cotton yield and quality.

As soon as possible, the standard of acquisition and processing of machine picked cotton will be introduced, and the machine picked cotton industry will be supported.

At the same time, we will attract famous textile enterprises from the mainland to settle down, and encourage cotton processing enterprises to directly link them with textile, marketing and other departments to form a mode of production, supply and marketing integrated cotton industry.
