India Extends Anti-Dumping Duties On Chinese Silk

Taking into account the increase in China's trade gap, India decided to continue to levy anti-dumping duties on silk fabrics imported from China for 5 years.

These anti-dumping duties mean protecting domestic industries and avoiding the invasion of cheap Chinese goods.

India first introduced anti-dumping duties on silk fabrics imported from China for the first time in December 2006.

In fiscal year 2010-11, India's trade deficit with China reached $16 billion.

In the first 7 months of the current fiscal year, India's trade deficit with China has exceeded $20 billion.

In December 2010, the General Administration of foreign trade of India reviewed that the end of anti-dumping duties would lead to the continued clarity of China's silk products and unfavorable to domestic industry.

This review suggests that it is necessary and should continue to levy anti-dumping duties, and anti-dumping duties should be strengthened.

India's tax authorities say that the anti-dumping duties will be renewed for another 5 years unless cancelled, replaced or corrected.

The India tax department also said that some of the nylon filament yarns imported from Thailand, China, Malaysia, Korea and Taipei, China, will levy an anti-dumping duty of US $0.20-1.51 / kg for a period of 5 years.
