BASF Ag Officially Changed Its Name

After a year or so of preparation, BASF officially changed its name from "BASF joint stock company" to "BASF European company", the new registered company is HRB 6000, and its headquarters is located in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

The newly formed management will consist of 12 members, half of whom are shareholder representatives, half of employees representatives, and appointments to the 2009 annual meeting. The Management Council appointed members of the Executive Council in December 5, 2007.

BASF Europe has also set up a new European Working Council, consisting of 23 members from 12 European countries.

The vice chairman of the Executive Council commented on this: "this is of historic significance to BASF.

BASF is the first company in the industry to embody the spirit of European integration through legal means.

At the same time, we can further enhance the participation of European employees and improve corporate management capabilities.

The legal form of "European company" is based on the laws of the European Union and is implemented in accordance with the European Community (EC) Regulations on European Companies promulgated in October 8, 2001.

The introduction of the European Companies Ordinance has made it possible to merge companies established in more than one EU Member States and allow them to operate throughout the European Union.
