Yichun Footwear Export Industry Base Is Gradually Taking Shape

In the face of the rapid gathering and rapid expansion of export footwear industry in the jurisdiction, Yichun inspection and Quarantine Bureau has taken measures to strengthen source management, implement front-end services, implement electronic supervision, and improve testing facilities to improve the ability of inspection services, effectively promoting and ensuring the smooth export of footwear products within the jurisdiction. Over the past two years, the export of footwear in Yichun Bureau has grown from scratch, from less to more, and has become the second largest inspection and control commodity after fireworks and firecrackers. According to statistics, in 2007, nearly 5000 batches of shoes were applied for inspection within the jurisdiction of the Bureau, with a value of US $65.75 million, up 320% and 224% respectively on a year-on-year basis, and were exported to nearly 40 countries and regions including the United States and the European Union. In 2008, Yichun's footwear export achieved a good start. In January, 650 batches of shoes were applied for inspection, with a value of 8.3 million US dollars, up 74% and 49% respectively on a year-on-year basis. It is estimated that in 2008, the export of shoes within the jurisdiction of Yichun Bureau will exceed 10 million pairs, and the export value will exceed 100 million US dollars.
