Pengzhou Improves Leading Industry Chain Through Government School Enterprise Cooperation

Mao Zeyu, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Pengzhou Industrial Development Zone, said that the Pengzhou Industrial Development Zone is deepening its cooperation mode with the enterprises and institutions of higher learning in the park. Relying on the strong faculty of Pengzhou Institute of Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu textile specialized college and Chengdu technician college, through the long-term learning and short-term training, it will cultivate a steady stream of high-level technical talents for the home textile and garment industry.

Four professional parks have been formed, and more than 1000 home textile and garment enterprises have been introduced. More than 200 plants have been put into operation, 700 thousand square meters of factory buildings and about 400000 square meters of factory buildings under construction.

With the rapid development of home textile and garment industry in Pengzhou, the demand for talents at all levels is becoming more and more urgent.

Of the 800 thousand people in Pengzhou, there are 300 thousand surplus labor force.

It is not only an economic problem but also a social problem that the employment of enterprises is difficult and the masses are hard to obtain employment.

If enterprises want to change the concept of employing less local people, the masses should also change their employment concept of making money in a long way.

Mao Zeyu told reporters that the Industrial Development Zone has introduced more than 40 senior talents including professors and outstanding graduates from the textile technical institute. The 80 textile and garment design and production professionals trained by the Pengzhou technician college will also graduate into the job. The 13 home workshops in the city have provided nearly 100 skilled workers for the home textile enterprises in the city.

"The establishment of talent training base for Chinese textile and garment industry in Western China is of great significance for the cultivation of more high-quality talents."

It is revealed that by the end of 2013, Pengzhou will gather more than 2000 home textile and garment enterprises to achieve 10 billion yuan in sales revenue, 3 billion yuan in industrial added value, 400 million yuan in tax revenue and 30 thousand in employment.

Its supporting industry has achieved 40 billion yuan in main business revenue, 3 billion yuan in tax revenue, 200 thousand people in employment, and basically built up the home textile and clothing capital in Western China.
