As for the damage caused by the import of Chinese footwear products to Mexico's local footwear industry, L PEZ Garc a a commented: "we hope that this damage will not increase again, as this will remind us of what happened in March, and the import rate increased by 148% in the same month compared with that in March."
L PEZ PEZ Garc A. concluded that the chairman of the Mexico Footwear Industry Association (CICEG) reiterated that he would continue to require Mexico officials to supervise the signing of the agreement on "production licenses" for goods from China. "The industry must ensure that things are going well to maintain their growth and competitiveness."
