According to statistics, as at the end of April 2012, there were 170 enterprises in Xiayi industrial agglomeration area, 40 thousand employees, 2 billion 490 million yuan in fixed assets investment, an increase of 36% over the same period last year, 6 billion 500 million yuan in operating income, an increase of 135% over the same period last year, and 660 million yuan in profits and taxes, an increase of 107% over the same period last year.

In 2011, Xiayi county was awarded the "garment processing base in Henan province" and "the famous textile industry cluster area in Henan" by Henan clothing association and Henan Textile Association.

The leading industries of textile and clothing have begun to take shape, covering many fields such as cotton spinning, flannelette, dyeing, printing, washing, finishing, Western-style clothes, trousers, casual wear, sportswear, knitted garments and so on, and the industrial chain is becoming more and more complete.

In 2012 Xiayi county plans to spin up to 2 million spindles, weaving machines to 2000, and garment processing capacity to 100 million.

More effective in attracting foreign investment.

Every year, Xiayi County focuses on the development goals of the leading industries, and focuses on implementing the investment route plan. About 12 industrial projects will be set up, with a total investment of 2 billion 960 million yuan. For the projects settled in Xiayi, Xiayi county has given strong support and assistance in such aspects as project approval, land pfer, environmental protection formalities, planning permission of construction land, construction examination and so on. The project has been built in green light, and some projects have been built in that year and put into operation in those years.

It has only taken 100 days to sign and put into operation the first 160 thousand spindles of the ocean yarn, creating the "second Zhangjiagang speed".
