To Promote The Development Of The Textile And Garment Industry, Wage Negotiations Are Organized By The Southern African Textile And Garment Trade Union.

The southern African textile and garment trade union (SACTWU) completed the second round of wage negotiations in May 9, 2012 on 2012 in the second round of clothing, textiles, leather and related sectors in 2012.

During the first round of consultations (the first week of the first round of consultations from April 18th to the first week of May), the wage increase proposed by employers was between 2.5%-6%, but employers in the clothing industry did not propose.

In the recently completed second round of negotiations, all employers (excluding employers' associations in some garment industries) raised their proposals for wage growth in the first round of negotiations.

At present, the adjusted formal salary scale is growing at 4%-7.5%.

Unfortunately, employers in the clothing industry still do not propose to increase wages, which belong to the clothing manufacturers association (AMSA).

However, those members of the coastal Garment Manufacturers Association (CCMA) increased the minimum wage for those qualified non metropolitan technicians by 3.7%.

The third round of consultations ended at the end of 6, and the third round of consultations began in some areas.

The southern African textile clothing trade union is determined to fight for the official wage increase this year.
