Rapid development

Recently, the chamber of Commerce of China's food, animal and Animal Import and export issued the "China fur industry report". The report shows that after more than 50 years of development, China has become a big country for fur animals (Fox, raccoon, mink, Rex Rabbit) breeding and fur processing.

At present, fur farming is distributed in fourteen provinces and municipalities in Shandong, Liaoning, Hebei and Heilongjiang, with an area of about 4 million 670 thousand square kilometers.

Fur clothing processing enterprises are mainly distributed in Zhejiang, Guangdong, Hebei, Shandong and other places. Their output accounts for over 80%. With the rapid development of domestic fur industry, more than ten fur trading markets have been built in China.

According to the global fur sales data released by the International Fur Association from 2010 to 2011, fur sales in the world have reached US $15 billion. The Chinese market accounts for only 1/4 of the gross sales of the world's fur, thus driving the consumption of the whole Asian market.

Despite the impact of the global economic downturn, the fur industry maintained a healthy growth of 7% compared with the same period last year.

The rise of fur industry in China not only enriched the industry chain of our country, but also greatly promoted the employment in the region and improved the living standard of the local people.

According to local governments, Suning pferred 80 thousand surplus rural labor force to 37% of the total population, and 47 thousand rural fur animal farmers in Leting accounted for 34% of the total households.

At the same time, in the process of processing, as a labor-intensive fur processing enterprise, every year also provides a large number of jobs.

For example, all the fur crafts employed by the Beijing noble clothing company, which provided the venue for the event, are laid-off workers and retired workers.

There are nearly 7 million employees in China's fur industry, which is of great importance in absorbing social surplus labor.

Growing standardization of fur industry

For a long time, the International Fur Association has been promoting pparency and standardization of the whole industry with the world's leading auction houses. It has actively advocated high standard animal welfare and invested huge amounts of money in the study of animal welfare standards, and has launched the OA logo, also known as the "origin protection logo", which provides consumers with fur origin information.

The OA logo promises to consumers that the fur with OA logo comes from a country with animal welfare regulations or standards to supervise fur production.

As China's fur industry is in line with international standards, China's policy on animal welfare welfare is also improving.

In 2005, the China Leather Association and the State Forestry Administration jointly issued the Provisional Regulations on the technology of domestication, breeding and utilization of wild fur, which stipulated the technical specifications and animal welfare standards that fur industry should follow.

In November last year, the technical code for leather and fur market management was formally implemented by the China Leather Association and the Ministry of Commerce.

Among them, strict animal welfare standards were included, which played a positive role in promoting animal welfare.

At present, 90% of the fur used is artificial breeding, and wild fur is also under strict supervision by various countries, and all countries have hunting quotas.

The International Fur Association and its members have actively supported the International Convention on the protection of endangered species of Wild Fauna and flora.

Fur environmental protection and sustainable reuse

The biggest characteristic of fur is its natural environmental protection. Fur can be used for decades without deformation, and can even be passed down from generation to generation.

If the fur is buried in the ground, it will quickly degrade automatically without any adverse effects on the environment.

Many customers at home and abroad, including customers far away in Germany, come to renovate the old fur coats that have been handed down for decades, and there are no two kinds of fur garments that are designed and altered.

In order to encourage and advocate the sustainable reuse of fur, the International Fur Association, in collaboration with Milan international fur and leather exhibition (MIFUR), started a fur refurbishment Design Award in 2010 at the REMIX fur design competition. It provided the designers with the opportunity to renovate the old fur coat to reflect the trend of tomorrow.

Today, with the global economy weakening, fur industry is undoubtedly a "growing industry" that promotes regional economy and increases local employment. It is showing a more scientific and standardized healthy development trend in the process of gradually integrating with the international market, making it an indispensable force in the steady development of China's economy.
