Garment Industry To Get Rid Of Negative Development Doom And Enter Slow Growth Trend
In the first two quarters of 2012, the year-on-year growth rate of the retail sales of 100 key large retail enterprises in the country was higher than the same period last year. The growth rate was 3.3 percentage points down from the same period last year, and the growth rate of the first quarter of 2011 and the two quarter of 2011 fell by nearly 10 percentage points.

According to the data from the China National Business Information Center, the number of retail sales and retail sales of all the major retail enterprises in China dropped in 2012, and the retail sales increased by 20.39% over the same period last year, down 2.19 percentage points from the same period in 2011, and the retail sales increased by 4.88% over the same period last year, down 6.04 percentage points from the same period last year.
This trend lasted until 2012. The statistics released recently by the China National Business Information Center showed that the retail sales of all the major retail enterprises in the country showed a negative growth in the same period last year, -7.99%.
Among them, excluding the Spring Festival and other factors, in the first half of this year, the number of clothing retail sales of hundreds of major retail enterprises in the country increased by 6.1% over the same period last year, down 22.13 percentage points from the same period last year, a new low in the past five years.
In the first half of the year, the main categories of retail sales showed negative growth.
Retail sales of foodstuffs decreased by 10.30% compared with the same period last year, while retail sales of clothing decreased by 8.55%. The retail sales of gold, silver and jewellery for the first time showed negative growth since December 2011, with a growth rate of -2.00%, and household appliances retail sales fell by 2.67% over the same period last year.
From the first half of the cumulative growth rate, the retail sales volume increased by 13.77%, 22.93 percentage points slower than the same period last year; the total retail sales of clothing increased by 6.10%, a 16.77 percentage point slower than that of the same period last year; the retail sales of gold and silver jewelry increased by 16.25%, a 48.60 percentage point slower than that of the same period last year; the retail sales of household appliances increased by 1.11%, a 18.01 percentage point slower than the same period last year.
Consumer demand has been relatively low in the first few months of this year as consumption has been released ahead of schedule.
Coupled with the southern rain and snow weather is not suitable for shopping and other reasons, many businesses reflect a significant reduction in passenger flow.
At the same time, the price increase further slowed down, CPI year-on-year growth slowed 1.7 percentage points over the same period last year.
The growth rate of retail sales slowed for two consecutive months, making the total retail sales in the first half increased by only 8.73% over the same period last year, slowing by 20.26 percentage points over the same period last year.
"Compared with the same period last year, most clothing sales growth has slowed down."

In the first half of 2012, the volume of retail sales of all kinds of clothing in a hundred major large retail enterprises decreased by 4.23% compared with the same period last year.

The retail situation of women's wear is relatively good, up 7.18%, 4.59% and 4.29%, respectively, while the retail sales of knitted underwear, winter wear and Denim Wear have declined, down 14.50%, 9.11% and 8.22%, respectively.
