The town is located in the central part of Liaoning province and the core area of Shenyang Economic Zone, with a total area of 98 square kilometers. It has 18 villages and 1 communities, and its resident population is 80 thousand.

The fur leather industry of Tong Er Bao started in the 80s of last century. After more than thirty years of continuous growth and development, it has formed a complete industrial chain with "farming, dyeing, processing and marketing" as its whole. It has been selected as the "leather fur industry base of China", "the national AAA level tourist attraction" and "the characteristic tourism town" of Liaoning province. In 2010, it was selected as one of the new towns that were mainly planned and constructed in the Shenyang economic zone. In 2011, it was selected as the modern service industry gathering area in Liaoning and the fur and fur Industrial Park in Liaoning province.

In 2012, it was appraised as "China's fur leather clothing town" by the National Federation of textile industry.

According to reports, Tong Er Bao leather fur industry park is located in the new town of Tong Er Bao, and is one of the key industrial clusters in Liaoning province.

At present, there are 800 leather production and processing enterprises, each producing 9 million leather products, 200 fur producing and processing enterprises, and 600 thousand fur garments annually.

In 2011, the total GDP of the park reached 2 billion 500 million yuan, an increase of 42.4%; the total caliber tax revenue was 260 million yuan, an increase of 160%; the general budget revenue was 200 million yuan, an increase of 76.8%; fixed assets investment completed 1 billion 260 million yuan, an increase of 57.5%; foreign exchange earning earned 22 million dollars, an increase of 120%; and the sales of leather fur industry exceeded the 30 billion yuan mark, increasing by 30 billion.

In the first half of this year, the new town realized industrial output value of 10 billion 850 million yuan, realized sales income of 10 billion 300 million yuan, and realized industrial output value above 4 billion 360 million yuan, completed 900 million yuan in fixed assets investment, and realized 180 million yuan in tax revenue.
