    Adidas'S Latest Micoach Sensor System

    Vantaa, Finland, May62008- (ACN Newswire) -VTI technology provides a sensing solution for Adidas's recently launched miCoach system.

    The sensor system uses an accelerometer to calculate the speed and distance of human walking or running.

    At present, the awareness of healthy lifestyle has been increasing worldwide. Advanced training methods used by top athletes only now can benefit all levels of sports enthusiasts.

    Adidas's latest miCoach system is one example.

    It is a complete training system designed to motivate and assist athletes at all levels to achieve and exceed their training objectives.

    The system can provide users with real-time feedback and adaptive training based on the real training effect in the process of training.

    The miCoach system includes a mobile phone developed by Samsung Corp, a network based training tool, and a speed sensor developed by Adidas and a step sensor attached to running shoes.

    The inside of the step sensor includes an ultra-low power SCA3000 acceleration sensor provided by VTI technology company, which can calculate the speed and distance when the user is exercising.

    VTISCA3000 is a digital three-dimensional accelerometer, which can measure acceleration, momentum and inclination.

    Typical applications include portable navigation equipment, sports equipment and other battery powered, ultra low power and high performance requirements.

    Since April 2008, Adidas's miCoach system has been on sale.
