Shaodong Won The Title Of "China Luggage And Leather Goods Production Base" To Promote The Development Of Luggage And Leather Goods Industry

It is announced that Shaodong has developed relevant conditions for the development of leather luggage industry, and the assessment team has agreed to grant Shaodong the title of "China luggage and leather goods production base".

Li Yuzhong said that this is the regional brand of the first leather industry in Hunan, marking Shaodong to become the only production base of leather luggage in Hunan.

At present, a total of eight counties (cities) have been awarded this honor.

Shaodong County

Originated in the 70s of last century, after more than thirty years of development, the scale has been expanding. There are more than 4000 enterprises in the production and marketing of leather goods, leather and accessories, more than 50 thousand employees and 1 billion yuan in annual sales.

At present, the whole county has formed an industrial system integrating raw material supply, leather goods and accessories production and sales, and has become one of the five pillar industries in Shaodong. The products have 7 series and more than 4000 varieties. The total production and sales volume ranks fourth in the same industry in the whole country. Among them, the bag sales account for 70% of the national market share, and have been identified as Hunan's industrial entrepreneurship base.

In 2010, our county launched the "special economic zone of leather goods and bags" in China.

Under the guidance and assistance of our county, according to the general requirements of "re cultivating, grasping and upgrading, creating brand and promoting development", our county persists in taking innovation as the driving force and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises as the foothold, focusing on improving the technological level, technological level, equipment level and management level of leather bags production, and has helped to push forward the construction of "China's luggage base".

Li Renyin, Secretary of the Shaodong county Party committee, said that the adoption of the appraisal is not only a recognition of Shaodong's development of leather luggage industry, but also a look forward to it.

Shaodong county is located in the hinterland of central Hunan. It has excellent geographical location, convenient pportation and long history.

In February 16, 1952, Shaodong county was separated from the original Shaoyang County, belonging to Shaoyang special (land) area.

It was changed to Shaoyang city in 1983.
