With the upside down of cotton prices at home and abroad, import yarn has developed rapidly in recent years, and imports are increasing year by year.

In 2012, China imported 1 million 527 thousand and 900 tons of cotton yarn throughout the year, an increase of 68.93% and a record high volume of imports. The trend of imported yarn became one of the biggest focuses in 2012.

In June this year, the import yarn forum held in Hangzhou, experts pointed out that in 2012, China's imports of yarn from different countries had different growth. Among the countries with larger import proportion, Pakistan grew by 86.98% over the same period, India increased by 123.63% compared to the same period last year, Vietnam grew by 60.58% compared to the same period last year, and Indonesia and Uzbekistan increased by 119.84% and 169.09% respectively. Pakistan and Uzbekistan have become the fastest growing countries.

But the status of the two countries was replaced by India this year.

According to relevant data, 1~4 imports increased 140.56% in India this year, far exceeding 18.37% in Pakistan. At the same time, Indonesia and Malaysia imported yarn grew by 153.43% and 159.63% respectively. This data is far more than Pakistan.

He Xiaosi, manager of China cotton textile information network, believes that India is the second largest yarn producing country in the world after China, and has 48 million ingots (3 million new products per year). Its output is close to 5 million tons, and more than 20% cotton yarn is used for export. In addition, India's cotton production is larger and its spinning quality is better. Most of the spinning equipments used are spinning equipment, such as Lida, Ke Lai Fu, Murata and so on. The spinning quality is better than that of Pakistan yarn. Narrowing of price difference between internal and external yarns

In fact, with the large import of cotton yarn abroad, the price of foreign cotton yarn has been narrowing compared with that of last year.

Experts pointed out that the current domestic ordinary cotton yarn prices compared with foreign ordinary cotton yarn price difference is getting smaller and smaller.

Taking imported India A-grade and China made high C32S woven yarn as an example, the import price in June this year is 26000 yuan / ton, and the domestic price is 26300 yuan / ton, the difference is only 300 yuan / ton. In the same period last year, the import price was 25100 yuan / ton, the domestic price was 27100 yuan / ton, and the price difference reached 2000 yuan / ton.

"Now textile enterprises know that foreign cotton yarn is cheap, so we all buy foreign cotton yarn." He Xiaosi further explained that at present, the textile enterprises that buy foreign cotton yarns extend from the coast to the inland, and the number of participating groups is increasing. Most of them are coming at the price difference, so the spread is gradually narrowing.

In addition, the increase of cotton yarn middlemen is also an important reason for the narrowing of the price difference. "There are so many middlemen in cotton yarn that they all need profits, so the price difference has also narrowed considerably." He Xiaosi said.

When the price difference of imported yarn is narrowed, how long will the heat of imported yarn last in China? For this reason, He Xiaosi said that the future of imported yarn in China's market is mixed.

On the happy side, first of all, although the import yarn has increased dramatically, but from such a large market in China, there is still a relatively small amount of possession, which shows that there is still great potential. Secondly, the scope of imported yarn is gradually expanding, from the beginning of cotton spinning and denim business to knitting. clothing And other enterprises, this will further enhance the demand for imported yarn. Third, due to the fact that the domestic policy of domestic storage and storage has not been adjusted clearly, the price difference between inside and outside cotton can hardly be reduced in a short time. Therefore, imported yarn will continue to maintain its share in China with its price advantage.

Worrying, policy uncertainty will affect the prospects of imported yarn. "The main advantage of imported yarn lies in price. If China's cotton policy is adjusted, the price advantage of imported yarn will probably not happen again." He Xiaosi said.

In addition, as the number of imported yarns is increasing rapidly and profits are relatively large, more and more intermediaries are involved, and there may be some negligence in the shipping schedule, delivery date and quality control, which will increase the risk.

Due to the popularity of imported yarn, a problem that cannot be overlooked is the rapid increase in the number of importing yarn intermediaries, resulting in the disorder of imported yarn market.

Thousands of troops are making imported yarns, mainly foreign trade companies, domestic traders, manufacturing enterprises, and companies that have capital operations for the purpose of obtaining capital." Huang Liansheng, manager of the Trade Department of China Textile Machinery Import and export company, has been responsible for importing cotton yarn and cotton grey fabric for many years. He has a unique view on the import and export of cotton yarn.

Most businessmen simply compare the yarn price of foreign countries with the price calculated from the high cotton price in China, and feel that the price of cotton abroad is lower than that in the domestic market. In fact, imported yarn has become an independent market in China, and market competition is the competition between imported yarn and imported yarn. Many domestic middlemen are willing to fight alone, without division of labor and cooperation, and directly order their own products, which results in the disorder and confusion of the import yarn market.

Increased pressure on foreign companies

In fact, the import of foreign cotton yarns in recent two years has also brought India, Pakistan and other countries to see this huge market in China, and the textile enterprises that sell cotton yarn to China have also increased rapidly.

In March this year, at the China International Textile yarn (Chun Xia) exhibition, overseas enterprises from India, Pakistan, Singapore, Switzerland and other countries gathered here to further expand the Chinese market through exhibitions. Data showed that only 93 enterprises came from India and Pakistan, exhibitors not only increased in number but also increased in the exhibition area. This also shows the "covetous" of foreign textile enterprises to the Chinese market.

But at the same time, the pressure of foreign textile enterprises is also increasing.

A textile company from Pakistan said that last year, the company exported more than 2000 containers to China's cotton yarn products, mainly 21 medium and low count yarn products, but with more and more textile enterprises exporting cotton yarn to China, it caused some pressure on the enterprises.

"Now that there is pressure, we try to reduce stress as much as possible."
