The project has successfully developed two kinds of multi-functional imitation wool and compound functional polyester staple fiber.
After identification, the comprehensive performance of the product has reached the international advanced level.
To understand the characteristics of these fibers, the reporter interviewed Liu Xiuqing, technical director of the Chemical Department of Sinopec Tianjin branch.

The objectives of the project are: to prepare multifunctional copolyester chips containing copolymers and in-situ composite powders by copolymerization and in-situ compounding technology, and to mix the chips with conventional polyester to make special shaped fibers, and to carry out fabric design and weaving, that is, by combining physical and chemical modification, we can produce comprehensive properties comparable to natural fiber fabrics, and overcome the inherent disadvantages of natural fiber fabrics, and have many functions such as hygroscopic, quick drying, antistatic and anti pilling.

< p > the project team first established 4 research plans to be developed on the basis of literature and market research and advanced laboratory research and development. In the past two years, it carried out performance research and test for the contents of the test scheme, and carried out 18 tons of copolyester masterbatch with different functions. Three leaf and cross shaped fibers were spun on the new product development device of the Tianjin Corporation according to the +80% semi extinction routine section of the 20% master batch, and the specifications of the short fiber finished products were 1.56dtex * 38mm, 1.33dtex x 38mm and 1.22dtex * 38mm.
After that, the staple fibers and ordinary cotton fibers were spun into yarn and knitted and dyed.

The main technical difficulties of < p > project include: (1) surface multiple modification technology of functional inorganic powder and its dispersing technology in ethylene glycol; (2) the key technologies of multifunctional copolyester chips, such as hygroscopic, antistatic, anti ultraviolet and anti pilling, in situ condensation polymerization; (3) high speed spinning and post-processing technology of multi-functional copolyester chips and conventional polyester, and control technology of morphological structure of special-shaped fibers; (4) integration technology and functional evaluation of different combinations of multi-functional polyester fabric.
The project is invested by Sinopec company. Both sides enjoy the patent of technical cooperation and organize the industrial production according to the demand of the market to create benefits for enterprises.

The polymerization reaction was carried out according to the experimental plan, and dozens of batches of copolyesters were synthesized in the pilot test. The structure and properties of the synthesized polyester chips were tested and analyzed. The structure and properties of the co polyester and PTT and their blends were tested and analyzed. After that, two kinds of raw materials of MCPET and PTT were blended for dozens of times to determine the best spinning and post-processing conditions, and the structure and properties of the fibers were characterized and analyzed, thus laying the foundation for the industrialization experiment.
From July 2009 to June 2011, on the basis of laboratory research, it was determined that 20 tons of modified polyester were produced. In February 2010 and April 2011, the modified polyester chips and PTT were blended in a certain proportion on the new development device of Tianjin Corporation respectively, and the blended products were blended in a certain proportion. The specifications of the finished products were 3.33dtex * 64mm and 3.33dtex tow, and then the spinning fibers and tow were supplied to the textile mill for weaving.
