Through the pilot plant test, the total chromium reached the standard rate of 100%, which effectively solved the problem of low removal rate of low concentration chromium containing wastewater.

Chromium containing sludge, as the two pollutant produced in the treatment of chromium containing wastewater, has been listed in the list of hazardous wastes. The disposal of a large quantity of chromium containing sludge and chrome containing leather debris has increased the end treatment of many leather enterprises, thus becoming a major problem faced by tanning enterprises. Professor Liao Xuepin from the cleaner production laboratory of Sichuan University introduced the chromium containing solid waste treatment technology to the delegates. Professor Liao introduced that both the chrome leathers and the waste hair and residue produced during the processing are valuable protein resources, which have high value of resource utilization through processing.
