Dunhuang Dress Art Exhibition Lets The Clothes Wear Through Time And Space
" Drooping clothes "The Yellow Emperor's Yao and Shun's clothes and the rule of the world" are the origins of the Chinese costumes, and the tradition of costumes and ritual is the historical context and fundamental of Dunhuang's costume art.
As the highlight of the Ninth "science, art and Fashion Festival" of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, the "Dunhuang dress art exhibition" was opened at Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology. The exhibition is also one of the theme exhibitions of "Dunhuang art entering colleges and universities" initiated by the Dunhuang grotto protection research foundation, the Dunhuang Arts Research Institute and the three party of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology.
This exhibition includes the Dunhuang theme fashion show, Dunhuang dance performance, and the Dunhuang copy mural dress culture theme exhibition, the Dunhuang dynasties decorative pattern copy exhibition, the Dunhuang mural dress image restoration exhibition, the Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology national costume museum collection ancient textile exhibition, the Dunhuang artistic element innovation design teacher and student work exhibition, as well as Dunhuang clothing and ancient Chinese clothing culture academic forum and so on.

Dress culture The three part of the theme exhibition, the reproduction of Dunhuang's decorative patterns and the restoration of the frescoes of Dunhuang fresco show that visitors can get closer to the essence of Dunhuang's art, recreating the harmony of Dunhuang's artistic coloring and the fine arts and crafts, giving people the shock of art.
Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes is the largest Buddhist temple site in China. It is the world's longest history, the most complete preservation, the most abundant content, and the most exquisite Buddhist art remains. The image data of costumes in Dunhuang Grottoes reflect the clothing culture that has lasted for thousands of years, and can be described as "the complete collection of costumes" in the medieval times. The multicultural and worldwide value of Dunhuang clothing culture makes it a part of the world culture that transcends the national boundaries and attracts the world's attention with its unique cultural charm.
"Dunhuang copy mural costume cultural theme exhibition" selects 32 works of Dunhuang murals copying works and works copied by modern digital technology, including the famous Dunhuang scholars Chang Shuhong, Li Chengxian, Duan Wenjie, Ouyang Lin, Huo Xi Liang, Shi Weixiang, Li Qi Qiong, Wan Gengyu and so on, who are Collectible by the Dunhuang Research Institute, to copy the authentic paintings of Dunhuang murals, and also select more than 70 pieces of Dunhuang special caves, which are duplicated by the Dunhuang Research Institute Exhibition Center. They reproduce through the high-definition digital cameras and Xuan paper, and truly restore the paintings of the Dunhuang mural, showing the development and changes of the clothing culture and art of Dunhuang.
The exhibition of decorative patterns in Dunhuang in the past dynasties is a hundred pieces of Dunhuang decorative patterns copied by Mr. Chang Sha Na, a distinguished professor of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology, and her students, including the caves, flat chess, herringbone drapes, Buddha's backlights, canopy, niches, trimming, accessories, floor blankets and tiles, etc. in Dunhuang grottoes. The works summed up the representative decorative patterns of Dunhuang in the past dynasties. Through the content, shape, color and composition of the decoration, it truly reflected the creative inheritance and innovation of Chinese artists in the artistic practice of inheritance and development, and fully embodies the splendid culture of the Chinese nation. Mr. Chang Sha Na enthusiastically dispels doubts at the exhibition site. She said, "research and study, learning and questioning are complementary to each other. We need to sit down and study Dunhuang instead of blindly understanding Dunhuang art."
The Dunhuang frescoes image restoration exhibition is selected by the Dunhuang dress restoration team of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology as a sample of the typical costumes of the Dunhuang frescoes. Corresponding to the textual research and the unearthed objects in the same period, a total of 8 sets of garment restoration were completed, including 14 katsus, men's gowns, women's skirts and so on. The materials were mostly traditional plants such as Luo, silk and silk. Most of the plants were dyed with plants. The techniques involved were painting, quilting, stacking, embroidering, sewing, embroidery, embroidery and so on. Among them, the typical representative work is the four sets of ladies' dresses, Mrs. Dudu and her two daughters, who live in the south of the 130 Grottoes in the Tang Dynasty. Mrs. Du Dun and her two daughters are all wearing shirts, high waist skirts, half outer arms, a thin shawl, maid men's round necktie, waist girdle, hairpin shadow in the picture, Luo Jinhua is expensive, and is a precious scene of Magnificent Lady travel map. The recovery team simulated the costumes, props, makeup, bun and posture of the fresco characters, completed the three dimensional reconstruction of the two dimensional images of Dunhuang, and reconstructed the representative styles of the Tang Dynasty, which provided a substantial, sensible and touching basis for the revival of traditional dress culture. Yang Shuyun, a famous Chinese costume artist, said: "there is only one Dunhuang in the world. It is unique. In terms of color, pattern and shape, Dunhuang shows the broad and profound Chinese culture. I hope young fashion designers and make-up artists can calm down and learn.
