Employment Situation Scanning Of Fashion Design Major
To be new or to be stable?
Li Jing is Wuhan Textile University. clothing College clothing and image design professional 2008 grade students, after graduation for a period of time left in the teacher Zhu Wen's advanced custom studio work.
"When graduation, many clothing enterprises will come to school recruitment, including the brands such as Vero, Moda and so on. Recruitment Posts involve Chen Li, designer assistants, reserve cadres, sales and so on. Most students want to "shop" and start marketing to understand the market. Li Jing said that students could find jobs, but no one in his classmates had ever thought of being an independent brand. Li Jing feels that the garment industry has not been prosperous for two or three years. Many manufacturers prefer to take the low-end electricity supplier or make high-end customization.
Zhu Wen introduced that many teachers in the school have their own workshops, and the four or five teachers have their own clothing brands. Teachers will teach students some experiences in their classes and choose some students to enter the studio, but after all, they have limited scale and few students choose to start business after graduation. But Zhu felt that the overall employment situation is good, the employment rate is high, more than 70% of the students are still doing this major, and most of the other students are doing fine arts related work, such as magazine art editors. "There is a gap between the education of schools and the needs of enterprises. Graduates should spend years in the enterprise and enrich their experience. If I graduate, I will be independent. Design It is easy to derail the market. " She said.
Because of the steady work of family recognition, Li Jing later entered the home Architectural Design Institute under the arrangement of his parents. Mr. Zhu thought it was a pity, because he had accumulated for several years and had more experience than most of the students, so he could take the initiative in the clothing industry. But Li Jing himself thought that the experience of learning fashion design before was helpful to his new job. He said, "art is interlinked. When designing a blueprint, I have some advantages in the aesthetics of composition and appearance."
Chen Yu's choice is more extreme than most students. In 2008, she was admitted to the fashion design speciality (specialty) of Tianjin University of Technology. After two years of study, she felt that the teacher's basic courses, such as drawing, tailoring, and simple typing, were all good enough, but as a whole, they copied the textbooks, and the information and ideas conveyed were also behind the market development. She said, "the costume design of Tianjin University of Technology is a characteristic specialty, but we are a specialist from undergraduate, and the teachers are weak." So she felt limited in school and decided to choose to study.
She said, "according to former classmates, there are not many students signing up for the recruitment meeting, and 30 people in one class have found two or three counterparts." As for the market situation, Chen Yu and Li Jing also feel that they are not very optimistic, mainly because they think there is little room for improvement. "Big companies have doorsill, small workshops are too rigid and new."
Chen Yu said again that she was not interested in learning itself, but just didn't like the atmosphere in the school. After studying, she studied pet cosmetology, so she entered a publication devoted to pet information.
Luckily into the Creative Park
Compared with Chen Yu and Li Jing, from the perspective of professional development, Ren and Wang Xueyan are much more successful. They are 2010 undergraduate students in knitting specialty, School of dress design and engineering, Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology. Starting in May this year, we plan to design our own brand. In June, the first series of works was put into stores. This shop is called Tu Cheng space, which is an entity exhibition shop in the creative park of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology.
The northern costume Innovation Park was recognized as the fourth batch of signing projects in Zhongguancun Science City in March 2012. It was built by the Beijing municipal government and Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology. It is the only fashion design industry project in Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone, and it was officially operated in October 2012. Yan Yan, director of operations, said: "the main tasks of the innovation park include two aspects: first, to build a service platform for the whole industrial chain, and the two is to make its own products."
Recently, it has entered the "100" designer resource center operated by the North garment Innovation Park, and works with foreign well-known fabric manufacturers to import imported fabrics and accessories from Italy, Japan and Korea to serve young designers at relatively low price and convenient ways. In addition, the North clothing innovation park also has a studio specializing in fashion models and graphic models. There are professional studios, exhibition halls, designer websites, art auditorium and conference hall. Through the docking of various links, the young designers resources of Beijing Institute Of Fashion Technology are not only retained, but also closely integrated with external designers.
The "BIFT-collection" is an integrated brand designed by the northern clothing innovation park. Its independent brand designer will be incorporated into its own brand. Each product is hung with BC's tag and designer's individual brand. In this way, we can build a big brand with the power of integration, and finally let everyone pay attention to the young designer's personal brand.
Yan Yan said, "we can also transform many of our students' good works into finished products using this platform. We have a lot of students' works to be released every year, but the exhibition is over. Actually, many ideas of Bei Bei students are very good creative points, and a little transformation can be sold as commodities.
Ren and Wang Xueyan were signed designers by BC. Ren said, "although we are only selling part time in TSU Cheng space, we are still students now. But Tcheng city space does not reject us, but focuses on the quality and sales prospects of clothing, and we can be very moved when we get the recognition that we can sell it in the store."
Despite the good sales, the innovation park also has preferential policies for graduates. First year rent free, second years and half price - two people still feel the pressure of the economy. Frankly speaking, they have not yet thought about whether they will fully invest in the design of independent brand after graduation. According to Michael's survey of Chinese University Students' entrepreneurship, about 60% of the 2012 graduates' venture capital is funded or borrowed by their parents or relatives. Everyone and snow goose didn't want to stretch out their hands at home, so the two decided to make a virtual registration in the park and rent a cheaper house as a studio.
Yan Yan said, "in recent years, although the government has strongly advocated university students to start their own businesses, there are no specific policies, such as venture capital, subsidies, taxes, etc. The support for foreign students' entrepreneurship is relatively large, and for local college students' entrepreneurship, the government will support projects with market prospects, but the support for early stage is relatively weak.
Gradually changing ideas
About 200 students from Ren and Wang Xueyan's clothing design and engineering college have more than ten students in their own designs, and most of them go to clothing companies.
Meng Qingyao, a teacher in the North employment office, said that there were 4 recruitment fairs this year, twice as many as last year. There are 111 enterprises in the first stage. Unlike Li Jing's feelings, Meng Qingyao felt that Garment and textile industry From the perspective of employment, it is not affected by the economic crisis, but has the trend of export to domestic sales.
In the usual teaching process, the school advocates the construction of the two level discipline and adjusts the teaching content around the market demand. Each college has its own practice base. The lower grade students have a summer and summer vacation study tour plan, and understand the business situation under the guidance of the teachers; the senior grade can directly enter the enterprise internship, as many as hundreds of practice bases. Apart from internships, schools are also actively organizing students to take part in all kinds of competitions, which has become a teaching task. Meng Qingyao said, "some students have won hundreds of thousands of scholarships in 4 years."
For this year's graduates, Meng Qingyao feels that his sense of crisis is increasing and his ideas have changed. Many students wanted to stay in Beijing before, but for the clothing and textile industry, the South was more developed. Therefore, schools actively guide students to go to the developed coastal cities of the textile industry. The recruitment fair also introduced many foreign enterprises. At the same time, it is also guiding students to adjust their expectations and encourage students to go to private enterprises, because the clothing and textile industry itself is mainly private enterprises.
Reporters interviewed several recruitment companies at the job fair. "There is a common problem for students," he said. "There is a common problem between students and their practical use, which is slow to integrate in practical work." in Beijing, For example, learning fashion design may feel that you only need to design, but as an enterprise, the goal is to create profits and create value. Therefore, design and sales can not be divorced, designers need to participate in the sale of experience, and then integrate professional knowledge. Some students do not realize this, and feel that doing some plane design can finish their work, but in fact, it is far from enough. There are fewer graduating students who are hardworking and hardworking, while their expectations are generally higher.
