Also known as an internationally famous brand, the Mothercare brand was found in 19 batches of imported infant clothing, bottle, chewable, drinking cup and other unqualified infant products at Shanghai port. The sampling rate was up to 8.1%, and was judged to have "greater quality and safety risks". Infant clothing is mainly color fastness, formaldehyde and other items are not qualified; chewable, bottles and other products are mainly excessive evaporation residue.

According to reports, in 2013, the Shanghai entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau imported 13 thousand and 700 batches of imported garments, and the 1155 batches failed to pass the inspection. The batch failed rate was 8.4%, and the amount of unqualified garments amounted to 4 million 500 thousand dollars.
