Keqiao Textile Price Index Continues To Decline

According to the Ministry of Commerce's business forecasting website December 30, 2008, the textile price index of Keqiao on December 2008 22-28 was 91.74 points, down 0.5% from the previous week.

Specifically, the grey fabric price index was 96.63 points, down 1.6%; the raw material price index was 80.70 points, fell 1.2%; the home textile price index was 95.83 points, fell 0.6%; the clothing fabric price index was 97.12 points, fell 0.2%; the clothing accessories price index was 102.11 points, increased 1.4%.

Among the two grade commodities monitored, the price index of blended fabrics, other chemical fiber and blended fiber grey fabrics decreased by 1.6%, 1.5% and 1.4% respectively, and the price index of liners, polyester and ammonia fabrics and belts increased by 6.2%, 1.1% and 0.9% respectively.

Affected by the financial crisis, market demand has shrunk, sales orders for textile products are still insufficient, capital turnover pressure has increased, dealers have mostly reduced sales promotions, resulting in a general decline in price index.
