Qilu Institute of Technology (formerly known as Qufu Normal University's Xing Tan College) is a regular undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education.

Qilu Institute of technology has two campuses in Ji'nan and Qufu. The Ji'nan campus is located in the Eastern University town of Ji'nan, and the Qufu campus is located in Qufu, Confucius's hometown. The campus covers an area of more than 1200 mu, with unique architectural style, elegant learning environment and strong academic and technological cultural atmosphere. The college is mainly undergraduate education, accounting for 98% of the total number of undergraduates. The Institute has 9 hospitals and 2 departments, namely: College of electrical engineering, civil engineering, nursing, computing science and information engineering, College of chemistry and Bioengineering, School of economics and management, College of Arts, foreign languages institute, art college, foundation and ideological and political department. It offers 29 undergraduate and 23 specialties.

Art Institute

The predecessor of the College of Arts is the Institute of humanities. It was founded in 2009. It was renamed the Art Institute in 2013. It has four undergraduate majors, namely, Fine Arts (calligraphy), visual communication design, environmental design, product design, and over 900 undergraduates.

There are 25 full-time teachers in the Institute, of whom 50% have teachers' titles, 70% have master's degrees, and 5 have been outside teachers for many years.

The Institute has an art design training center, which consists of three laboratories, namely, visual communication laboratory, plastic arts laboratory and digital art laboratory. There are also four calligraphy and painting training rooms, which can accommodate more than 100 students to create calligraphy and painting at the same time and complete teaching facilities. The Institute has a fixed practice teaching base in Linyi Dawa and Zibo e Zhuang. Every year, teachers will lead students to do sketching and collecting activities.

Our college students have made frequent achievements in various competitions in recent years. In the third Shandong provincial art and design basic skills competition, we won first prize, two prize, three, three and so on, and the first prize of second Shandong university calligraphy competition. The specialty of visual communication belongs to the undergraduate specialty of design science in the category of art. This course offers courses on advertising, design history, advertising design, brand packaging design, brand marketing and advertising planning, enterprise information and visual identity system, book binding design, font and layout design, graphic creativity, layout design, logo design and so on. In practice teaching, this course has 1 links, including experiment, curriculum design, graduation design and so on. There are 3 training centers for art design, with 3 laboratories including visual communication laboratory, plastic arts laboratory and digital art laboratory.
