In the first half of 2014,

Imported wool has 1649 batches of raw wool, 43 thousand and 300 tons of accumulated weight and 241 million yuan of goods.

Compared with imports of 1317 batches, 39 thousand and 900 tons and 189 million US dollars, imports increased by 8.52% and the value of goods increased by 27.51% over the same period of 2013.

This is also the first time that Jiangyin's raw wool imports have regained positive growth since its negative growth in 2012.

Meanwhile, in the first half of 2014, the Jiangyin bureau also intercepted 5 kinds of quarantine weed seeds and 35 kinds of weed seeds from 22 batches of imported wool, 86 kinds of harmful weeds, 268 times, compared with the same period last year, 2 kinds of quarantine species, 51 kinds of non quarantine species, and an average of 3 kinds of weeds per batch of wool.

Wool imports are related to Australia, Uruguay, France, Ireland and New Zealand.

And other countries.

Jiangyin is an important imported raw wool processing base. At present, there are 13 enterprises with qualified quality of raw wool production and processing. The annual production and processing capacity is about 80 thousand tons, close to 1/4 of the total amount of the country.

With the increase in import of raw wool, the number of importing countries has increased.

The incidence of weed seeds increased, and also increased the risk of infectious diseases.

Because of the characteristics of imported wool production and processing, it is easy to carry foreign harmful species such as weeds and seeds.

If quarantine control measures are not in place, dangerous weed seeds are likely to be pmitted and spread as a result of negligence in all aspects of pportation, processing and storage.

At present, there are more than 100 exotic weeds entering China, and the direct economic losses each year are as high as tens of billions of yuan.

Therefore, we must be vigilant against these "ecological killers" lurking in wool.

In order to prevent the spread of harmful organisms, the Jiangyin Bureau destroyed the imported wool, packaging and wool leftovers according to the relevant regulations, and monitored the management of the processing enterprises during warehousing and processing.
