Why do international brands list frequently in the "blacklist" of clothing quality announced by various quality supervision departments? Experts believe that the weak penalties and low illegal costs are the reasons why some enterprises are "fearless".

The case investigated in Shanghai is not a case. Every year, the quality inspection results will be released annually.

In recent months, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of industry and Commerce has conducted lots of quality checks on the clothing products in circulation. Muji, ZARA, H&M, Polo Ralph Lauren, FNRN, VERO MODA, Baleno, Givenchy, Disney and other international brands have been "on the list".

In June this year, the Consumer Council of Guangzhou also announced 16 disqualification.

Brands, HELLO KITTY, ELLE, Disney, Adidas and so on.

The quality problem has repeatedly sounded the alarm.

According to the Zhejiang provincial regulatory authorities, there are many problems in Korean brand clothing in foreign brands.

In the first half of 2013, Zhejiang provincial industry and Commerce Bureau selected 12 brands and 20 batch of Korean brand clothing, the qualified rate was only 45%, PAW IN PAW, LAND KIDS and other brands were "famous"; in 2012, the qualified rate of imported garment sampling for South Korea was only 50%.

These "famous brand" clothing, which won the trust of domestic consumers, has exposed the "quality gate" incident frequently. What are the problems in those links?

Judging from the spot checks of industrial and commercial quality inspection departments, clothing quality problems mainly include formaldehyde exceeding standard, pH exceeding standard, color fastness and fiber content not reaching the standard.

Journalist survey found that from textile, printing and dyeing to clothing processing, sales and other links, there are loopholes in the quality of clothing problems.

Printing and dyeing links are chemical problems.

A Hangzhou chemical company official told reporters that formaldehyde exceeded the standard, pH value is not up to standard and other issues, are generally in the middle of the industry chain printing and dyeing links.

"Dyes are all chemical substances, and in order to accelerate dyeing, printing and dyeing enterprises will also use auxiliaries containing formaldehyde, which should be the main source of excessive formaldehyde in clothing."

Clothing labels are hand and foot.

"Garment manufacturers will buy different quality fabrics according to their brand level. The fabric quality of these famous international brands should be the best."

A clothing salesperson who does not want to be named, however, says that in order to save costs, it is common for enterprises to do something about the labels of clothing components in the process of OEM.

In the sales link, some brand enterprises "clear up the path and hide the old positions".

According to the press survey, brand clothing has to undergo rigorous testing before entering large shopping malls.

"Some brand enterprises are qualified before they enter the shopping mall, but in order to increase profits, they may not be able to guarantee the quality of the products they sell."

A salesperson said.

Although clothing safety is not as direct and attracting attention as food safety hazards, the harm of clothing quality to human health is still serious, which can be described as "chronic killer".

According to the industry, pH value is too high, color fastness is not up to standard, easy to cause some sensitized carcinogenic dyes, heavy metal ions and so on are absorbed by the human body, so as to cause harm to human health and safety.

Formaldehyde can enter the body through eating, breathing and even skin contact, which can harm skin and mucous membranes.
