Chinese Designers Are Hard To Grow Up To Meet The Needs Of Society
A few days ago, the "big sister" in the fashion media circle, the chief editor of VOGUE magazine, and Anna Wintour, art director of Kangtai Nash group, visited Beijing for the second time.
During the meeting with Guo Pei, Lawrence Xu, Masha Ma, Ma and Uma Wang, and other famous fashion designers in China, Anna Wintour said that she did not see the growth of Chinese fashion designers, or even thought that their design and the global market still had a considerable distance.
The Anna Wintour's words are amazing. They are questioned without progress and away from the market.
So how come these famous fashion designers earn money to solve the problem of survival?
Is China's fashion designer really wandering outside the market?
From the day when the independent brand was founded, fashion designers were highly positioned for independent brands. Some famous designers even played the banner of "advanced customization" at the top of the fashion design field.
Of course, the price of clothes designed by them is naturally low, and there are tens of thousands of clothes, and the design of hundreds of thousands of prices is not unusual.
Under such a high pricing strategy, it is not easy to win customers and let them happily pay for their designs, but since they are top fashion designers, they will certainly have their own way.
Designers usually promote celebrities by performing celebrities, and through various social means, they put their works on celebrities or celebrities, especially the female stars who are going to take part in the red carpet ceremonies of the major film festivals.
In this way, after the star exposure, media publicity and public concern, the designer's advanced custom fashion has been given more meaning, and the high price has naturally had the support of "reasonable value".
In the past few years, this is indeed a good way for fashion designers to earn money.
However, Guo Pei, who was qualified earlier and had a large number of excellent customer resources, was very disgusted with this.
In her view, those young designers who lack fame and scarce customer resources have been used by groups of stars to use their hard work without remuneration, but at the same time, they have lost the most potential market target customers, which will bring incurable harm to fashion design and even the entire garment industry.
Design can not just cater for society.
As for the current state of fashion design in China, there have been a summary of the media: in the design of unvalued consumption concept, Chinese consumers are willing to pay only for the two very realistic things of material costs and workers' working hours.
Influenced by this concept, more and more fashion designers began to look for expensive fabrics everywhere. They worked hard to extract new design language from the intangible cultural heritage of the folk, and seized new design inspiration and elements, and then increased the value of the works with complicated embroidery and embroidery.
In fact, as early as twenty years ago, fashion designers in European and American countries had also had strong interest in Chinese traditional culture, but they converted those cultural elements into classic fashion design. Compared with Western designers, this kind of national culture and the design of a nation's history and culture were just what many Chinese designers lacked.
Even top fashion designers with fame and reputation must rely on some craft or some kind of material that only has China to attract attention and succeed. This is now regarded as a "consensus" in the fashion design industry in China.
Under this kind of "strange consensus", designers are indulged in talking about complicated embroidery, time-consuming labor and expensive materials, instead of studying the design and edition.
To sum up, under the immature environment of social consumption concept and business system, China's top fashion designers can only design in a way that caters to the society. The advantage of doing this is that they can solve the designers' survival problems, and the disadvantage is that their designs are rarely associated with the mainstream consumer groups.
This is probably why the top Chinese fashion designers are being questioned from the market and slowly.
