Design for mom

Jin Youjia had thought of leaving the fashion week because her mother was ill.

After drifting abroad for many years, she wanted to take her mother to seek medical treatment abroad, but also to take her around the world, at least without regret.

But it may not be a good mother's wish to see this for a year.

I didn't know how much struggle and hesitation I had in the process, but eventually she chose to blend this heavy feeling into the new season.

"This show was made by my mother and my mother liked it."

Jin Youjia said that in the past, she seldom talked with her mother about her design, and her mother did not agree that she always used the style of men's wear.

But this time, her design embodies a large number of "mother" shadow.

Mother grew up in the age of Yu Quanmin watching the TV drama "yearning". At that time, everyone was dressed simply without too much variety.

She also chose cotton and silk for this time.

"Cotton was popular in those days, and mom loved silk.

And my past designs also contain a lot of cotton and silk.

Jin Youjia's mother likes flowers, so this design also changed the past's ashes, adding many "flower colors" that were never before.

In order to reflect the definition of "mother daughter relationship" in her design, Jin and Jia also chose young models and old models for the first time.

In order to find the "old lady" who can walk up to the show ground, she is "blocking people directly" in Regent Street and art exhibitions in central London.

Many old women were very happy to hear that they were chosen to be models, but there were only a few of them in the end.

These old models are about seventy or eighty years old, wearing the most fashionable clothing styles of their mothers.

The design of young model clothes includes more combination of retro and modern pop models.

"Although many people say that my clothes are neutral, I prefer the classic men's wear version to women's clothing.

But mom is a very feminine style.

At the very beginning, my designs were feminine, and later I met the editor in chief of Vogue in Italy, Shanghai. She advised me not to jump to too feminine style at once.

In the spring and summer 2016 London Fashion Week, Jin Youjia's representative gray suddenly disappeared.

Later, she won the Ones to Watch award and had the opportunity to host the fashion show in Fashion Scout. But Fashion Scout did not allow live performances, so the two season shows had to be accompanied by background music.

But this season, when 3D special effects, dancers and models are all ready, Fashion Scout's mandatory provisions on music will reduce the stage effect.

So Jin began to send emails to Fashion Scout's boss and then to interns to explain the importance of the show.

"I even told them that if I didn't play the violin on the floor, I would move the show to the outside."
