Donghua University Welcome Shanghai International Fashion Culture Festival

Recently, the international fashion forum of 2016 Shanghai International Fashion Culture Festival and the fashion week around Donghua were held in Yanan Road Campus of Donghua University. This year's theme is "Silk Road and ideal light".

As a brand project of Shanghai International Garment Culture Festival, this year's theme is "Silk Road and ideal light". It integrates "academic forum, professional exhibition, design competition, fashion show and creative market" into one area. It integrates "one belt and one road" element. It not only invites the institutions, brands and institutions of all countries and regions along the way, but also releases creative designers and hosts the first foreign students' clothing.

Chen Wen, the winner of the Chinese fashion design Golden Summit Award, is invited to campus to promote the training of fashion creative talents.

Tibet is known as the "roof of the world".

As an important participant in the history of the Southern Silk Road, the ancient Tang Road and the tea horse road, Tibet is adjacent to the "one belt and one road" strategic Province, and also borders on India and Nepal. It is an important gateway to China's association with South Asian countries.

During the fashion week, at the invitation of our school, experts from University of Tibet were invited to the academic forum to discuss the establishment and development of fashion city on the new silk road with researchers from the fashion industry, culture and education at home and abroad.

In addition, the teachers and students of the school of art and clothing design will also be released on the stage of the opening ceremony in the evening of April 19th. This is also the first time that Tibetan master's clothing design works have entered the University of Shanghai to appear in the University fashion week.

It is reported that one of the activities of Donghua fashion week this year is the "maritime Silk Road" in Africa - Kenya textile art exhibition.

Kenya is the destination of the maritime Silk Road in Africa.

The Kenya textile art exhibition is rare in Shanghai and even in China. It is mainly based on modern textiles in Kenya. It has distinct regional cultural characteristics and gives people the opportunity to feel the charm of Kenya folk customs in close proximity.

As a unit of the Ministry of education's "20+20 cooperation program for Central African universities," this is another positive initiative launched by our school in Promoting Sino African cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation since it opened the world's only Confucius Institute of textile and clothing in Kenya in 2015.

"Urban memory" is a historical record of preservation value in the process of urban formation, change and development.

This week, in the Museum of textile and clothing in Shanghai, a new exhibition of changes in fashion in New China, with the theme of "urban memory", will lead the public to search for urban memories in the changing clothing and tell the Chinese story of "dressing".

The exhibition takes Shanghai as the point, the coastal cities as the line, the mainland city as the radiation, through selecting 30 cities, hiring 30 clothing experts, taking the new China as the time axis, taking the individual growth course as the scene axis, excavating the living photos of their own, family, relatives and neighbours, and the 210 works displayed in this exhibition are selected from the 3000 new Chinese fashion and fashion changes, which shows the fashion trend of the fashion features of the Chinese city style style in the new China for more than 60 years.

In the 2016 autumn and winter fashion week in Shanghai, she and 23 small partners represented the school as a team of new designers. They first came to the 800 famous show in Shanghai, and added new inspirations to the development of fashion creative creation with the vitality of the infinite design works.

These young designers will also appear in the fashion week around Donghua, and are expected to represent the Chinese graduates to attend the London Fashion Week in London in June this year through the Shanghai fashion week and the Donghua fashion week stage.

It is understood that Donghua University's cutting-edge design team comes from graduating classes.

The school of clothing and art design is focusing on the training objectives of comprehensive and innovative design talents. It has carried out undergraduate comprehensive education reform. It has set up the support plan of "Donghua's cutting-edge designer". It was officially launched in 2015. The new team landed in Shanghai fashion week and Donghua fashion week.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to relying on educational reform in schools, schools also pay special attention to the role of alumni resources in promoting the training of creative talents.

This year around Donghua fashion week invited 93 class alumni, the top prize winner of the Chinese costume design award, Chen Wen Lai to hold the "Yiyuan Fang Chen Wen art comprehensive exhibition". Teachers and students will see through the series static exhibition and dynamic show, how to combine the art with cowboy innovation, and let the original rough Jeans Dress shine with different artistic charm through cross-border design.

The training of creative talents is not only for Chinese students, but also for foreign students. The first foreign student costume design competition in Donghua, the first time to enter the fashion week of Shanghai, conveys this "fresh" education meaning.

In the final, 26 foreign students from 20 universities in China will adopt 34 sets of costume design works to carry out fashion and creative exchanges among different countries, ethnic groups and regional cultures.
