The New National Standard Of Children'S Wear Has Been Implemented Or Brought About Great Changes In June.

With the improvement of people's living standard and the change of children's consumption concept, children's clothing, as an important part of the clothing market, has broad room for development.

Children have gradually become the most potential consumer groups in the market.

Children are in the stage of growth and development, and their physical changes lead to frequent replacement of their clothes. Those seemingly clean and beautiful clothes sometimes become "invisible killer" threatening their health. Children's safety and health projects fail to meet the mandatory standard requirements: formaldehyde content exceeds standard, pH value is not up to standard, product ingredient identification is not consistent with actual measurement, color fastness is not up to standard, rope and belt are not up to standard requirements, appearance quality is defective, and so on.

In order to continuously improve the safety and quality of textile products for infants and children, the National Standard Committee has issued the mandatory national standard GB31701-2015 "infant and child textile product safety technical specification" on the basis of issuing GB18401-2010's basic safety technical specification for national textile products. The standard was officially released in May 26, 2015. It is the first mandatory national standard specifically for infants and children's textile products (children's wear). It will be formally implemented in June 1, 2016 and the pitional period will be 2 years.

Products that are manufactured before June 1, 2016 and meet the relevant standard requirements are allowed to continue to be sold in the market until May 31, 2018.

The requirements for rope and chemical safety have also surpassed the relevant national standards such as Japan and Korea.

After the implementation of the new standard, our children's clothing enterprises will further strengthen the quality management and testing of product safety.

The release of this standard reflects our government's attention to the safety problems of infants and children and the determination to regulate the production and sale of such products. For the vast number of importers and manufacturers, we need to organize technical personnel to study the contents of this standard in a timely manner, and inform the manufacturers of foreign countries about the technical requirements of the standard in advance. During the production process, the technical requirements of the standard are put into the actual product quality control and management, and the quality of production management and product quality is improved.

If the product is labeled with formaldehyde, a class 0~24 infant clothing should be less than 20mg/kg for a period of 0~24 months, and children's clothing with direct contact with the skin is less than 75mg/kg for more than 24 months. Children's clothing with non direct contact with the skin is less than 300mg/kg.

The permanent identification of children's clothing should be made of soft material and sewn in the proper place, so as to avoid direct contact with children's skin and prevent the children's skin from being damaged by friction.
