Behind the predicament
The dilemma facing Pacific department store, Bobbi building, sunshine 527 and even Huaihailu Road is a microcosm of the retail industry.

The rent is very high. If it is not for the subsidy of the head office, the store will not support it at all.
A clothing store in Huaihailu Road said helplessly.
According to some people who have been engaged in investment promotion for a long time, under normal circumstances, the Huaihailu Road store rents are 30 yuan ~50 yuan per square meter per day, and the advantage bunk rents can reach 80 yuan ~90 per square meter per day.
"There are only a few high margin formats, such as jewelry, watches or wedding photography, which have the financial strength to layout the stores along the street in Huaihailu Road, but these formats are not very popular.
