However, due to the excessively narrow scope of exemption, a large number of chromium containing leather waste still can not be effectively utilized, not only resulting in waste of resources, but also greatly increasing the storage and processing pressure of tanning enterprises and hazardous waste disposal centers, and affecting the development of the industry.

In fact, chrome containing leather waste is rich in collagen, which is a good raw material for producing industrial gelatin and industrial protein, and can create high economic value.

The China Leather Association has repeatedly communicated with the relevant departments of the Ministry of environmental protection, the Ministry of industry and the Ministry of Commerce and so on. With the opportunity of the eight expansion of the Chinese Leather Association, the China Leather Association jointly organized representatives of some tannery enterprises from the Ministry of industry and industry and the gelatin Association of China to hold a seminar on expanding the resource utilization of chromium containing leather waste in Shanghai. The aim is to establish industrial gelatin and tanning enterprises. It is pointed out that the existing exemption conditions are too narrow for production in reality. Especially in recent years, under the pressure of great economic downfall, the market of leather waste producing leather, regenerated leather and electrostatic flocking is more depressed, which further reduces the utilization rate of its resources.

At the seminar, the leaders of the Ministry of industry and Commerce listened carefully to the industry problems and aspirations and adopted the views of the participants. They should give correct guidance from the policy, build reasonable and scientific dredging channels, and improve the supervision mechanism of the upstream and downstream enterprises, so as to widen the scope of the utilization of chromium containing leather waste resources and achieve their intrinsic resource value and economic value.

Europe, the United States, Japan and other countries and regions are not only used for industrial gelatin and industrial protein processing, but also for the production of feed additives, agricultural fertilizers and other products. However, in China, this use is not within the scope of exemption. Therefore, hazardous waste management is still needed. Enterprises producing industrial gelatin and industrial protein can not obtain the qualification of hazardous waste disposal, and can not be used as raw materials for processing. Therefore, the current management mode actually cuts off the best resource utilization channels. The waste of chrome leather wastes can not be used as much as possible, which not only causes waste of resources, but also increases the pressure of tanning enterprises and disposal centers of hazardous wastes, and also affects the production of industrial gelatin enterprises.

After the meeting, the China Leather Association will continue to communicate with the State Ministry of industry and the Chinese Gelatin society on expanding the exemption conditions and links of chrome containing leather waste, and jointly explore the establishment of linkage mechanism. The China Leather Association will submit relevant materials to the Ministry of industry and information and the Ministry of environmental protection in accordance with the contents discussed at the meeting, and strive to get through the recycling channels of chrome leather waste as soon as possible, so as to realize the standardized production and development of leather making and industrial gelatin Enterprises.
