One of the research teams has developed a new technology that can directly use cells in sportswear.

The team, called bioLogic, used a non pathogenic E. coli (E.coli) to smear it on a back with multiple sizes.

The principle behind this is that researchers use the properties of Escherichia coli to produce larger volume changes as temperature and humidity change.

In the process of user movement, the multi block opening square will change along with the back. When the humidity is low, the square will naturally bend, and when the humidity is high, it will change flat.

If heated, these squares will also bend, so as to increase the opening and speed up heat dissipation and sweating when sweating and body temperature are higher.

Specifically, on the material development, the team obtained the liquid droplet of E. coli through biological 3D printer, then evenly applied it to a layer of cloth material, and then used two layers of other materials to clamp the new material in order to control the bending degree of the cloth not too big, and in order to prevent the E. coli from contacting with the skin directly.

The so-called biological 3D printer can get Escherichia coli cell droplets.

They designed the size of each square piece according to the heat and water vapor of the body parts during exercise.

The co author of the study, Lining Yao Yao, explained that heat and steam are two concepts. "People may think that heat and sweat are the same thing, but in fact, regions like the lower spine produce a lot of sweat, but they do not produce too much heat," he said.

BioLogic is responsible by Wen Wang, a researcher, and she is also the main person in charge of this new material sportswear project.

She collaborated with 14 researchers, including fashion designers, chemical engineers and bioengineers, as well as researchers from sports brand New Balance.

After wearing this dress for a few minutes, Wen Wang gave the comment: "I have an air conditioner on my back."

They also designed a pair of shoes using the same material.

The two designs are published in this month's Science Advances journal.

MIT has made many attempts to explore this new material, for example, a porous material called Active Auxetic. It can also provide feedback for temperature, but there are actually a small number of programs inside it.
