In order to commemorate the ancestor Zhang Jian, it was named "Tong Jian No. 1" chicken foot cotton.

In November last year, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, Professor Yu Shuxun of Zhejiang agriculture and Forestry University, executive deputy director of the academician Yao Mu's base of Xi'an Polytechnic University, executive dean of Xi'an Polytechnic University's textile science and Engineering College, Professor Sun Runjun and other experts came to the National Joint Research Center for special textile fiber composite materials research center for safety protection, and cotton cultivation and planting base of Nantong University Qidong campus.

At the meeting, academician Yu Shuxun fully affirmed the progress of "Tong Jian 1" chicken foot cotton cultivation, and believed that it would help Nantong explore a new way for the development of high-end textile industry.

In March this year, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, honorary president of Xi'an Polytechnic University, professor and doctoral tutor of Yao Mu, sent a letter to Mr. Cao Yunquan. He affirmed the good results of the Nantong line activities of "expert selection of high-end textile and cotton varieties" and brought good news about the chicken feet cotton.

Academician Yao Mu said that at present, the characteristics and technical indicators of chicken feet are not specific, and will have certain impact on the future work. It is suggested that detailed plans for testing, recording, collecting data and samples should be made in the next beach cultivation. He will also organize professional teams to conduct comprehensive performance testing of chicken feet cotton.

After receiving the letter from the academician, Cao Cao, who was very excited, brought the good news to the Liaison Department of the Municipal Association for science and technology. He said that the academician's affirmation and guidance gave him great encouragement and confidence.

Jin Xin said that the "Tong Jian No.1" chicken foot cotton dyed fabric has been experimentally dyed, and the next step is to promote large-scale and mechanized planting so as to achieve high quality and industrial production.

Xue Yun believes that the cultivation and extension of "Tongjian No.1" chicken foot cotton is of great significance for inheriting and carrying forward the cultural spirit of Zhang Jian's cultivation and herding and promoting the development of Nantong's high-end textile industry.
