Hongkong Beauty Retailing Giant Sasa Declined 7.2% In The Fourth Quarter.
On the evening of April 11th, Hongkong beauty retailing giant Sasa International International Holdings Limited (hereinafter referred to as "Sasa") released unaudited sales data in the fourth quarter.
In the three months ended March 31, 2019, Sasa's continuing operations amounted to HK $2 billion 56 million 400 thousand, down 7.2% from the same period last year.
It is reported that due to the total number of pactions declined by 6%, Sasa's retail and wholesale business turnover in Hong Kong and Macao market fell 8.4% to HK $1 billion 728 million, while same store sales also declined by 10.8%.
Among them, local customers and mainland customers fell by 8.8% and 3.7% respectively, that is, the number of local customers was much more than that of mainland customers, and the average amount of each paction fell by 0.7% and 5.9% respectively, resulting in an average 3.5% to HK $351 for each paction.
Meanwhile, Sasa's main drugs and cosmetics category achieved an overall increase of 2.3% in 1-2 months.
In addition, retail and wholesale business in China, Hong Kong and Macao, including Mainland China, Singapore, Malaysia and e-commerce, fell slightly by 0.4%.
In response, the group said that the main reason for the weak sales performance was the high base effect. Last year, some of the hot selling products declined, and the sales volume of new products was not satisfactory.
The group also revealed that some cosmetics stores selling skin care and make-up products were actively opening new stores in tourist areas, resulting in fierce competition, which made Sasa's overall international sales performance worse than expected.
In the future, Sasa plans to continue opening new stores in order to enhance the competitiveness of the group under the condition of reasonable lease conditions.
At present, Sasa international operates 274 retail stores, a 9 increase over the same period in 2018.
You know, according to the Spring Festival sales data released by Sasa, the retail sales in Hong Kong and Macao during the Spring Festival fell by 4.8% compared with the same period last year, and the same performance was also in the doldrums.
In fact, Sasa's performance is not related to the weakening of the environment.
According to Hongkong statistics, the retail sales of Hongkong's retail industry in 2019 1-2 months ago showed that the total retail sales value of retail sales in the first two months of 2019 decreased by 1.6%, and the total sales volume was temporarily estimated to fall 1.8%.
And the estimated value of total retail sales in February 2019 was 40 billion 700 million yuan, down 10.1% from the same period last year.
