As the largest retailer in Asia, Japan's fast retailing group, the parent company of UNIQLO, hopes to attract young talents to work for the worst labor shortage in Japan by earning $280 thousand a year in three years and becoming a management position. UNIQLO was founded in 1984 as the core brand of Japan's fast marketing company. According to Nikkei news, the company is considering promising young talents to spanfer them to management in three years, to provide 20 million to 30 million yen ($279329) annual salary for those sent to the United States or Europe, and those who stay in Japan will receive an annual salary of more than 10 million yen.
As of August last year, the average annual salary of fast sales staff was 8 million 770 thousand yen. The company's minimum wage is about 4 million yen.
According to the data of Japan's State Administration of Taxation, in 2017, the average annual salary of employees with more than four years' experience in Japan was 3 million 100 thousand yen.
According to "Nikkei news", Fast Retailing currently arranges most new employees to work in UNIQLO stores, but under the new mechanism, more new employees will be allocated to professional departments that are suitable for their skills in information technology and design. After 3 or 5 years of work, the company will select candidates from Japan and abroad for managerial positions.
