Gucci Application Adds AR Virtual Test Shoes Function
Trying to wear shoes without going to a store? The latest application of Italy luxury brand Gucci (Gucci) makes it possible.
Recently, Gucci has updated its iOS client. The biggest feature of the new version is the addition of AR test shoes. With the help of augmented reality (AR) technology, users can remotely "try on" Gucci Ace series sneakers through mobile phones.
In the latest version of the app, users can pick their favorite Ace sneakers, put the phone camera on their feet, and then show the "try on" effect. Users can also share their own Ace photos through e-mail or social media. The technical support for Gucci is Wannaby, a Russian technology start-up company.
Wannaby is headquartered in Belarus, and is committed to building AR business experience. Earlier this year, the company launched a beta version of its latest application, Wanna Kicks. Similar to the new functions of the Gucci application, Wanna Kicks also allows users to try on the sizes and styles of shoes to help users select the shoes that best suit them.
This technology is realized through mobile application and real-time machine learning algorithm. It can create the 3D model of sports shoes while considering the changes of color, texture and light, and deduce the location of shoes in space. So it has powerful foot tracking technology, can adapt to different camera angles, and can also adapt to the movement and rotation of feet.
In addition to shoes, Wannaby also plans to enter the field of jewelry and clothing. In addition, it has launched a manicure application called "WannaNails", which allows users to "test" nail polish from a well designed nail series and recolor it.

From beauty makeup to fashion industry, AR technology is increasingly being applied to major brands.
France's beauty giant L "Or" Al (L'OREAL)'s AR technology developer ModiFace has so far developed hair, beauty and jewellery AR applications for more than 80 brands Amazon, Sephora and Estee Lauder. Similar technology providers also include Perfect's YouCam, which allows 3D scanning of the face to achieve virtual make-up of lips, eyes, eyebrows, hair and cheeks.
