The eastern province of Zhejiang is a major province of China's foreign trade. Its first half year economic data show that the province's GDP reached 28256 billion yuan (the same below), an increase of 7.1% over the same period last year. It achieved export of 10484 billion yuan and imports of 360 billion 500 million yuan, an increase of 6.6% and 3.3% over the same period last year. Among them, Zhejiang exported 357 billion 900 million yuan to the countries along the belt and road, an increase of 9.9%, accounting for 34.1% of the total export volume of the province.

In the first half of this year, Shandong imported and exported 278 billion 660 million yuan to the countries along the "one belt and one road", which was 11 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of the province's imports and exports. Exports of electromechanical products accounted for more than 30%, and exports of labor-intensive products, steel products and agricultural products continued to grow.
Chongqing, the only municipality directly under the central and western region, also accelerated the development of foreign trade along the "one belt and one road" area. In the first half of the year, the total import and export volume of the city was 73 billion 420 million yuan, an increase of 32%. This has also benefited from the construction of an international logistics system from Chongqing to central Europe (Chongqing) to the West and to the "new land and sea channel" to Southeast Asia.
From the figures released in Fujian, in the first half of this year, the total import and export volume of the "one belt and one way" countries in the province totaled 220 billion 210 million yuan, up 13.6% over the same period last year, showing strong growth momentum. Its export commodities are mainly 6 types of labor-intensive products such as textile, clothing, furniture, bags, footwear, plastic products, toys, and electromechanical products, which account for 70.5% of the total value of Fujian's total exports to the countries along the belt.
The "one belt and one way" initiative can effectively boost the economic growth of China's related provinces, which is expected. Ye Hang, an economics professor at Zhejiang University, said that under the current economic situation at home and abroad, the development of emerging markets such as "one belt and one road" and other emerging markets can reduce dependence on a single market and better integrate into the global supply chain, industrial chain and value chain, resulting in huge economic and social benefits.
