Dry Weather Affects Output Of Australian Cotton And Wool.
Australian agriculture and resource economics and Science Bureau (ABARES) said cotton prices will rise as consumers demand for cotton garments.
According to a report released by the Australian government, it is estimated that the dry climate in Australia will affect the output of wool and cotton in Australia in 2018-19 years. The Australian agriculture and resources economics and Science Bureau (ABARES) said that the production of wool in the 2018/19 season is expected to reach 385000 tonnes, down 8.9% from 422000 tonnes in the previous 2017 years.
The report shows that the number of sheared sheep and the average yield of each sheep are declining, and the Australian local report shows that this is the lowest output of wool in history. It is estimated that the export volume of wool will be reduced to 4 billion 10 million Australian dollars in the 2018-2019 years, which is lower than the 4 billion 380 million Australian dollars in the same period (2017).
In addition, the Australian agriculture and resources economics and Science Bureau (ABARES) pointed out that the decrease in cotton production during this period was mainly due to the significant decrease in the water level of the irrigation cotton fields and the low soil water content, resulting in a reduction in the cotton planting area.
However, cotton prices will increase by 2% in the case of increased demand for cotton market. The Australian agriculture and resources economics and Science Bureau (ABARES) said that the increase in demand for cotton clothing would drive cotton exports to US $2 billion 650 million, compared with us $2 billion 130 million in the same period (2017).
The report also pointed out: "the worries about the environmental impact of synthetic fiber materials have increased the use of cotton in textile products. It is expected that driven by the increase in the number of middle class consumers in emerging economies, the purchase of cotton textiles and clothing will increase."
