    Recycling Centers Use Artificial Intelligence Robots To Classify Waste.

    The recycling plant is configuring robots with artificial intelligence (AI) guidance function. These robots are faster and more accurate in dealing with waste selection than manual operations. In warehousing, logistics and other industries, similar robots have been installed, which can effectively and unnecessarily carry out boring, dirty, and lack of manpower.

    The Single Stream Recycler company in Florida handles up to 350 tons of recycled waste every day. Recently, it said it plans to add 8 robots from Colorado AMP robotic company to increase recycling classification operations. At present, the company has 6 robots in the field operation. After the new robot joins, the recovery operation will be mainly automation.

    AMP specially designed robots can handle 80 kinds of waste every minute and do not make mistakes, 2 times the average employees. Automation can solve the long term manpower demand of Single Stream Recycler. When recruiting full-time employees, the company must advertise through Human Resources Inc and pay 10-12 dollars per hour to the grass-roots staff.

    AMP installed the machine learning software developed by it to robot robots specially designed by third party suppliers, visual sensors and robots that protect workers' safety barriers. The algorithm of AMP is to build a large number of complete database of files and calculations, including some hollow, crushed water bottles, beer cans, milk cans, food cartons and other items. Sensors use computer vision to scan fast-moving objects. This technology uses color, texture, shape, size and material to identify objects and promote their development. The robot sucks the waste from the conveyor belt and sucks the waste into the correct recycling box with reverse pressure. AMP has installed more than 20 systems in the United States, Canada and Japan. It is estimated that the number of robots will be doubled in the industry by the end of 2019.

    According to Single Stream Recycler, according to output, market price and other factors, it may take 18 months to 4 years to recover the cost of investing in AMP robots.
