Versace's T-Shirt, Brand Creative Director Released Bilingual Apology
Following this morning's apology on micro-blog, Versace issued an apology statement in Chinese and English bilingual addresses on several official social accounts such as Instagram, twitter and Facebook on overseas social media account around 5 p.m. today, and attached an apology letter from the brand successor and creative director Donatella Versace: "I am deeply sorry for the recent mistake made by our company, which is currently being discussed in social media. I have always respected China's national sovereignty, which is why I want to apologize for this mistake and its adverse effects.
The incident is due to the recent discovery of a Versace Versace T-shirt which listed China's Hongkong and Macao as the state. At 2 a.m. today, Yang Mi's official micro-blog (Jiaxing Yang Mi studio) issued a statement announcing that it had issued a letter of "rescission of the agreement" to the Versace Versace brand and has ceased all cooperation with the Versace Versace brand.
Versace official micro-blog subsequently apologized and announced that the T-shirt was put under the official sales channels of Versace Versace in July 24th and destroyed.
