In July, China's Textile Exports Increased By More Than 13% Yuan.

According to the statistics of the General Administration of customs, the total export volume of textiles and clothing in the 1-7 months of this year was 151 billion 740 million US dollars, down 1.52% from the same period last year (4.54% yuan in the year over year), and the growth rate was 0.85 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year. Among them, the total export volume of textiles was US $69 billion 380 million, an increase of 1.47% over the same period (7.69% yuan over the same period last year), and the total export volume of clothing was 82 billion 360 million US dollars, down 3.91% from the same period last year (2.03% in the year over year). In the first 7 months of this year, the export volume of textiles and clothing increased by 0.81 and 1.02 percentage points respectively over the first half of this year.

 

In July this year, the total export volume of textiles and clothing in the same month was 27 billion 510 million US dollars, an increase of 2.52% over the same period (9.41% yuan over the same period last year). Among them, textiles exported 10 billion 770 million US dollars in the month, an increase of 6.19% over the same period (13.34% yuan over the same period last year), and clothing exported 16 billion 750 million US dollars in the same month, an increase of 0.3% over the same period (7.03% in the year over year).

 

Despite the escalation of trade frictions between China and the United States since May, the main export market of textiles and clothing remains the United States in terms of export performance in the first half of this year. In 1-6, my textile and clothing exports to the United States totaled 22 billion 620 million US dollars, down 0.66% from the same period last year. Influenced by the added tariffs, our exports to the United States were 7 billion 290 million US dollars, down 2.24% from the same period last year. Since the clothing products were not included in the current tax increase list, the export volume in the first half of the year was 15 billion 330 million US dollars, a slight increase of 0.11%.

In addition, in the first half of this year, my textile and clothing exports to Japan declined more obviously, down 4.65% compared with the same period last year, and the growth rate of clothing exports to Japan was 6.11% lower than that of last year. At present, China's share of Japanese textiles and clothing has dropped from 65% in 2015 to 55% in the first half of this year.

On the other hand, our industry's exports to Africa increased rapidly, which achieved an increase of 5.24% over the previous year, especially the textile export growth of 10.06%. The amount of textiles and clothing exported to the countries along the route was 44 billion 799 million US dollars, of which 30 billion 334 million were exported textiles, up 3.23% over the same period last year. The diversification of our industry export market is emerging.
