The United States Formally Announced The Tax Increase Rules, And Plans To Impose A 15% Tariff On US $300 Billion In September.
The United States Federal chronicle website issued a pre announcement in August 27, 2019 and August 29th on the basis of the tariff decision previously announced by President Trump.
August 27, 2019 announcement: the tax rate on the list of products under the 301 measures announced in August 20, 2019 will be raised from 15% to 15%. The announcement will be announced on USTR website in August 30th in the US time. The announcement will be made in August 20, 2019. According to this announcement, part AnnexA of the annex 4A of the original August 20, 2019 announcement relates to the product (listing 4A), which will levy a 15% tax rate in September 1, 2019. A 15% tax rate will be imposed on the products listed in Annex AnnexC of August 20, 2019 announcement (December 15, 2019).
August 29, 2019 announcement: the product tax rate will be increased from 25% to 30% under the list of $250 billion (including the list of 1:340 billion, the list of 2:160 billion, and the list of 3:2000 billion). In response to this announcement, the United States opened a public appraisal session and invited all parties to submit written comments on the amendment. The deadline for submission of the written opinion is September 20, 2019.
All written comments should be submitted electronically in English text (www.regulations.gov ) The related tax rate will be effective from October 1, 2019. Since Monday is labor day on Monday September 2nd, the announcement is expected to be released on Tuesday at us time.
