Japanese Teijin Frontier Has Developed Silk Like Polyester Fabric.

Teijin Frontier, a Japanese textile product processing division of Japan's imperial group, has developed a polyester fabric, claiming that the fabric has the appearance and texture of silk like imitation, and can be applied to shirts and other garments.

The company said that the market demand for natural fiber materials has been growing, but those materials that have fine fiber or textured materials on the fabric surface, though smooth in texture, are similar to real silk or cupro ketones, which may cause color fastness.

In this regard, Teijin Frontier has developed a new processing technology, which can produce a stable and easy care polyester fabric, which has soft texture and the appearance of silk produced by wild silkworms.

The company said that through the use of polyester fibers, the new material has special surface, including soft luster, high color retention, anti color shift, shrinkage resistance and deformation resistance.

As of March 2022, the annual sales target set by the company was 150 thousand meters in the fiscal year, and it was assumed that the fabric could be used for various end uses, such as shirts and thin to medium thickness coat.
