After the founding of new China, Taizhou embroidered clothes went out of the country. In the "city records of Taizhou", the main commodities of Taizhou's export market value of over 5 million yuan were listed in 1990. Among them, silk embroidered garments began to export in 1952, and the highest export volume reached 4 million 50 thousand in 1990. The export volume was 94 million 480 thousand yuan, mainly supplied by 4 enterprises such as Taizhou embroidery factory and embroidery factory of Linghai City, and their business covers Japan, the United States, European countries and so on.

According to Wang Weimin, President of Taizhou garment industry association, "after more than 30 years of precipitation, the clothing industry in our city has unique regional and clustered industrial characteristics", forming "embroidery related industries", "children's clothing industry", "sweater industry", "three door clothing industry", "Tiantai socks industry" and many other characteristic industrial clusters. In the 90s of last century, Taizhou shoes and cap clothing became a pillar industry in our city.

However, the development of garment industry in our city is not smooth sailing, such as the rise and fall of shirts and sweater industry, the shrinking of garment processing export industry, and so on.

To cope with the market impact, garment enterprises in our city are also actively promoting industrial transformation and upgrading, such as the front and Zhang An areas in the north of Zhejiang. In the embroidery related clothing industry, represented by 6 embroidery embroidery factories such as Taiwan embroidery and Garments Co., Ltd., they have gone out of the way of brand management, and now they occupy a certain market share in embroidery and clothing industries.

After more than 30 years of accumulation and precipitation, our clothing industry has become the backbone of maintaining the smooth operation of Taizhou's economy. According to the association's incomplete statistics, in the first half of this year, a total of 12 enterprises were engaged in the garment industry, with a total output of 1 million 350 thousand, an increase of 51% over the previous year, of which the export volume reached 65 million yuan, an increase of 147% over the same period last year.
